De Nieuwe Binnenweg consciously chooses an artistic route. With the placement of the Santa Claus sculpture on Eendrachtsplein in 2008, the addition of lines of poetry, and various art projects, the entrepreneurs want visitors and clients to experience that we are more than a shopping street where you can buy things. There is space for meeting, cultural exchange, good conversations, care and attention for each other, and action when necessary. Beauty is also necessary in these harsh times, and therefore we go with our customers are happy to return to the Kunsthal. Kunsthal Rotterdam presents Flowers Forever. With more than two hundred objects from art, design, fashion, and science, this exhibition offers for the first time in the Netherlands an extensive cultural-historical overview of the flower. The exhibition is very diverse, with classical works and contemporary installations. And, as we know from the Kunsthal, very beautifully arranged again. Flowers Forever shows how flowers evolved from mythical and religious icons to status symbols, merchandise, and links in the global ecosystem. Seven chapters show how flowers are embedded in our culture as bearers of rituals, emotions, and ideas and offer you a surprising view of the role of flowers in our society.
